Is this the best Petite convertible dress? Honest review!

Is this the best Petite Convertible dress? Have you tried a convertible dress or other clothing piece? Recently you read about the wedding guest dresses for Petites. However, this convertible dress is better for vacations. A few years ago, I ordered a convertible dress from Diarrablu. However, what I love the most about the dress is that it can be tailored to your height. Therefore, the dress is not only Petite-friendly for women under 5’4. It is also a tall women friendly. After a few years, I want to share everything I think about convertible clothing. Is it worth the money? Is it versatile? Will you wear it a lot or not?

What is Convertible clothing?

Convertible clothing refers to garments that can be worn in various ways and styles. A shirt that you can also wear as a dress. Pants that can be worn as a jumpsuit, and so on. The dress I am reviewing can be tied up in at least ten different ways! Just like a convertible car.

A convertible dress will change from a halter neck to a one-shoulder style or a strapless dress.

Firstly, let’s talk about the height and fit of the Mailys convertible maxi dress. The dress has cinched-in waist, a flattering slit for short women and two long straps for different dress styles. The style and silhouette make short women look taller.

As the dress can be ordered tailored for your height, it is Petite-friendly. However, it is also curvy-friendly because it has a stretchy waist, and the fit looks great on curves.

Secondly, the quality and fabric. What the brand Diarrablu offers is the sustainability and quality fabric from Africa. When I first touched the dress, I was speechless because I had never had a dress as soft. The Senegal brand offers different fun prints and designs that you will never see anywhere else. Unfortunately, the print I have is not available anymore but it is available in gorgeous green and black colour.

Last but not least, the sizing and price. The brand offers sizes from XS to 3XL, which is a wide size range. And it shows how Petite means only height and not weight or size. For now, the dress retails for $245, which is a good price for a sustainable, soft dress. Therefore, if you are searching for a special dress or evening dress, check out the Diarrablu.

Conclusion and opinions

I have had the convertible maxi dress for a few years. However, I have not find a reason or occation to wear it. Firstly, I have realized that convertible dresses are not easy to wear. Many times having a lot of options is not the best option. Secondly, each time the dress styles can come out in different ways. One day it will look great, the other day it will look awful. Therefore, I suggest to practice and find 1-3 ways how you like to tie it up, and wear it that way. However, I have worn the dress as a skirt a few times and my goal is to wear it one day!

Last but not least, the dress can be confusing, but a great versatile piece when you learn how to tie it and make it perfect.
