Autumn trends include warm coats, layers, and a lot of bold colours. However, the Autumn fashion and trends can overlook Petite proportions. Layers as well as coats make the small frame disappear. Even more so, as it is more difficult to find outerwear that fits, is not baggy and was made for our height. I wrote about the fashion trends in 2025, but not specifically about Autumn trends.
Therefore, this well-curated Autumn style guide for Petite women will give you knowledge about trends that fit the Petite silhouette. But most importantly, how to wear Autumn trends as a shorter woman and where to shop for the trends this Fall.

Autumn Trends Style Guide for Petites
Bold tones (plum, burgundy…)
Dark colours like forest green, plum and burgundy are popular each Autumn season. However, burgundy and plum are gaining popularity year by year. For shorter women, bold colours can make them look shorter than they are. However, dressing all in one tone (monochromatic) will help with a taller silhouette. Last but not least, dressing accordingly to Petite style tips will help too (vertical lines, bodycon silhouette, v-neck line and so on. My personal favourite is adding bold tones accessories to my outfits- like bag or shoes.
Animal Prints
When Autumn starts to peak behind the corner, so do the animal prints. Animal prints have been having a comeback over the last few years. You can choose between a snake print, zebra and more. However, the most popular animal print is the leopard print. However, you do not need to go all in the animal print outfit if it is not your favourite. A great way to incorporate the animal print trend in your outfit is leopard print tights or a scarf. However, I also love a good leopard print blouse, or even a coat as a staple piece.
Brown Leather
Forget about your black Matrix coat- get yourself a brown leather blazer or jacket. Definitely make sure it is a Petite-friendly jacket that fits your frame and does not overpower you. However, a brown leather skirt and pants will look very sleek and slim as an office wear too. Last but not least, balance the volume- if top is bold, keep bottom streamlined. As a Petite woman, you do not want to match an oversize leather blazer and leather pants.
Pastel knitwear and silk from summer to Autumn
Summer to Autumn dressing is very tricky and not easy. However, there are some good trends and fashion hacks for transitional outfits. Like incorporating pastel colours in Autumn outfits, by wearing cosy and warm knitwear in pastel yellow, pink or blue. As well as sleek and well-fitting silk clothing. My personal favourite is a sleek silk midi skirt. There is nothing more flattering for a Petite frame than a mermaid silk midi skirt for an elegant Autumn look.
Sustainability
Sustainability is trending while also timeless- it is not going anywhere. More and more people seek more sustainable clothing, natural fabrics and clothes made in a healthy work environment. Structured designs
The structure, the plan and the power will come in style this Fall season. I am talking about the hourglass structured shapes (which is very flattering for short frames). One of the TOP Petite fashion tips includes cinching in your waist. However, structured designs include power blazers as well. The blazer have to fit you perfectly, and be styled with either a bodycon high-waisted skirt or well-fitted skinny trousers for more flattering look. Avoid oversized cuts that add bulk.
Skirt sets
Sets entered fashion, and are not planning on leaving, and I understand it. Having a set is like having a dress- no matching needed. Therefore, put the skirt set on, and you are ready to go. Secondly, the skirt set makes any woman look elegant, powerful and luxurious.
For Petite women, I suggest going for mini or midi skirt sets (always high-waisted). Finally, I like and suggest short women the cropped blazer skirt sets or vest sets.
Faux fur
Last but not least, faux fur is coming in strong this Autumn and Winter season. Faux fur is perfect for the mob wife aesthetics and keeping you warm while looking luxurious if you live in a colder place. As well as can be worn with anything you want and have in your Petite closet- like jeans, skirts, dresses or trousers. Faux fur is the most versatile outerwear as it easily transforms from day to night.
