TOP 5 Instagrammable places in Badajoz. Today you will find out more about Badajoz- the city that is one of the hidden gems of Spain. Badajoz is the first city that I ever visited in Spain, meaning, in a touristic way. Therefore, I was very happy to finally return after three years and take some more photos.

Best photo spots in Badajoz Spain

When I first visited Spain, I wrote a blog article as well and included my first experience in Spain. If you are interested, you can read about my first visit here. However, now let’s learn more about Badajoz and where to take the best photos for Instagram!

About Badajoz

Best places to visit in BAdajoz Spain

Badajoz is city in Extremadura. Extremadura is located in the west of Spain. Unfortunately, the region is not appreciated enough. However, Badajoz has one of the best prices- to live, travel around, eat, and have a portion of amazing food and wine quality.

Firstly, Extremadura has an awful infrastructure, train and any public transport with other regions. Therefore, not many tourists go there, and even local people do not visit Extremadura enough! However, I can only tell you the best about the region and suggest you visit Merida with its amphitheater (but to know more about Merida, you need to read my first blog article about Spain).

Where to eat in Badajoz?

Where to eat in Badajoz? restaurants in Badajoz

I know this post is about the best photo spots, but you will want to eat well after some good photo sessions. Especially, it is crucial to eat some good local food and have some great beer. However, the best restaurants for the best price are on the other side of the river (away from the center and tourist attraction spots).

Both times of visiting Badajoz, we went to eat at “La Fabrica”. I suggest you go to that district and then if you want you can choose another place to eat because there are many. However, in “La Fabrica” you can eat a lot under 10eur. I suggest you order 1/2 of the meal if there is an option. My favorite meal to order is Bacalao dorado (fish mixed with egg and potatoes).

La Giralda

TOP 5 Instagrammable places in Badajoz

La Giralda is one of the most beautiful buildings in Badajoz. It looks like a small, red palace decorated with white lace.

Alcazaba de Badajoz/ Parque (palmeras) de Alcazaba

What to see in Badajoz Spain?

Where there are palm trees, there is Kristine. In the park of Alcazaba, there are so many palm trees, I think more than in the rest of Spain. Therefore, if you are obsessed with beautiful palm trees and not only- also views from above over Badajoz- Alcazaba is for you to have a walk.

Casas Coloradas en Plaza Alta

Casas Coloridas or Colorful houses are one of the most Instagrammable spots in Badajoz (and the whole Extremadura). I like any interesting architecture, designs, or colors incorporated in the city buildings.

Calle Manuel Cancho Moreno (Rincon Nazari)

The most beautiful Instagrammable spots in Badajoz

We were casually walking around the center of Badajoz, and then I walked past the street where at the end of it noticed the most beautiful corner. Therefore, I stopped and turned on the little street to shoot some photos. Not only it had very photogenic wooden doors, but also Fuschia-toned flowers that went great with my handbag.

Another place you must visit to not only shoot photos but to drink the most delicious cocktails is Rincon Nazari bar. It is located right following the same street. The design of the bar is beautiful and has Arabic aesthetics with palm trees and more.

Puerta de Palmas

We walked so much, and Puerta de Palmas was not on our to-see list. However, we passed by it in the car, and It is one of the Instagrammable spots in Badajoz. Therefore, walk by it and take some photos because I did not, and I wish I did!
