What to see and do in Oropesa del Mar?

Oropesa del Mar reviews and ideas and tips

Weekend in Oropesa del mar. What to see and do in Oropesa del Mar? My travels and trips cannot live without outfits and fashion. Therefore, read until the end to see what I wore and shop easily for the outfits that I chose to wear! I am thankful to be experiencing different trips and adventures and share them with you. For my birthday I was lucky enough to go to Oropesa del Mar with my boyfriend, and then again in 2023. What is a better gift than adventures and time? Therefore, I keep updating the blog post each time I visit the place again.

What to see in Oropesa del Mar?

In these times of technology and phone, I appreciate it when someone gives me their time and does everything to spend the time with me. The biggest advice and tip I would tell any couple is to work on spending time with each other rather than away from each other! Work on relationships, be the bestie of each other, laugh, cry, have fun, and remember about the first time you saw each other! It is easy to fall away from each other, learn to fall in love with each other, appreciate their beauty and learn new ways to love each other, rather than searching for new people or bodies to stare at! Stare at each other, find every perfection and imperfection of each other! The love ends when one of the persons does not feel appreciated, loved, or wanted enough. When the other person looks more at people around than his/her partner! Be sure to look at your partner more, listen to your partner more than you do to other men/women around you! Talking about that, I have a new podcast with my friend, subscribe here, and schedule a call to improve your dating with us!

Let’s end with Kristine’s couple therapy and start with a travel guide about the Weekend in Oropesa and what to see and do! The blog post includes affiliate links, that helps me provide you with free content.

About Oropesa del Mar

What to do in Oropesa del Mar?

Oropesa del Mar is located in the East of Spain, in the region of Valencia. The place is small but cozy and beautiful! I would suggest visiting the place if you are going with family or your partner and want to have a calm, relaxing time at the beach.

In Oropesa del Mar there are enough places to swim, sunbathe, and have some drinks and food! I forgot to mention shopping too if you like the market and small shop vibes. These shops are open even at night!

The lighthouse

What to see and do in Oropesa del Mar? Well, the spot is not too big to have a lot of sightseeing. However, the place is more about vibe and atmosphere hunting and I am all in for that! It is not that the lighthouse is such a wow moment, but it does give a beach village vibes and has great views from it.

La Torre del Rey

Small tower next to the sea and the lighthouse. The whole view and small tourist attractions give a beautiful vibe and even more beautiful walks in the night.

Beaches

What to see and do in Oropesa del Mar? Beaches! Playa de la Concha is the beach where we spent all of our time. Oropesa del mar has two beaches, but we liked Playa de la Concha because of all the reasons. The beach was small but wide in the sense of looking at it from the houses to the water. The other beach was very long along the coast. However, it was very narrow, and I feel like it was more packed. Playa de La Concha was perfect for families, very calm, and can choose to spend time closer to the Sea or far away in shadows on palm trees. During the day we chose the sea, to sunbathe and have some swim. However, in the afternoon we decided to chill underneath the palm trees away from people.

Talking about the other beach, I suggest having some cocktails on the beach, for example in the bar named New Ibiza. After a cocktail, have a night walk on the beach and catch the romantic vibe.

Port

As with every beach city or village, how without the port? The port is small, and to be honest, I did not even go to the port. It was further away in the direction where was only the port- nothing else. Therefore, I did not find a reason to go there, and with the time limit we had, I did not find it necessary to go there.

Swimming and sunbathing

Swim and take some sun! The main reason we went there was to enjoy the sea and beach. I can only tell that the choice was perfect and I loved the sea and beach a lot. Some beaches are filled with young people, party people that listen to music, or just attention seekers. However, most local people, seniors, and family people were in Playa de Concha.

The sea did not have a lot of waves and was not very deep. I think it was one of the main reasons why it was filled with little kids.

Seafood and paella

What to eat in Oropesa del Mar in Spain?

Oropesa del Mar was filled with different seafood restaurants that I could not choose from where to eat. I am going to talk about where we ate later in the post but what we ate is the most crucial part. The first day we wanted something simple and fast, so we chose a simple restaurant at the beach. We like to choose different meals like squids, chicken wings, and potatoes to share (that is what we did). The next day we decided to go for the real Valencian paella (the authentic paella is made out of meat, not seafood). However, dinner was meant to be fancier, so we chose an elegant restaurant with a view. I ordered some delicious mussels with potatoes, my boyfriend chose steak (everything was perfect).

Nightlife- shopping and cocktails

Where to try out the best cocktails in Spain?

The district between one beach and another beach was filled with the market and small shops, that were even opened at night! Therefore, if you search for a new dress or souvenir, shopping is a great way to spend your time. However, we went more for the cocktails. Oropesa del Mar offers Irish pubs, casual bars as well as beautiful cocktail places (like the bar called New Ibiza).

Walks and runs

Oropesa del Mar was all about vibes and atmosphere. I would suggest having a walk late at night as the sun sets (or early in the morning). However, my boyfriend chose to run by the sea in the morning, which I was kind of jealous about. I have promised myself to take the running gear with me the next time we go.

Carpe diem

where to eat in Oropesa del Mar?

The first day we knew we want something simple, fast, but still delicious. Therefore, we went into Carpe diem which offered typical Spanish dishes that we usually like to share. We ordered squid rings, chicken wings, and fried potatoes. Everything was fresh and delicious, the staff was very polite and friendly with everyone, and the atmosphere was like at home.

El Torico

The best restaurants in Oropesa del Mar

If you are in the Valencian region, you must try the Valencian paella (it is made with meat). El Torico was the nearest to us, so that is the only reason we chose it. The choice of restaurants that offer paella was big, and as we are not exactly paella professionals, we did not care which one. On the menu, the price is for one person, but you can order for two only. Paella was very delicious, seemed a little uncooked. Maybe a few more minutes would have been good, but it was still delicious, and I would eat more any day!

Berriz (views)

The best restaurant to eat in Valensia region. What to see and do in Oropesa del Mar?

The restaurant Berriz we saw on the first night and thought of having my birthday dinner there (normal prices for the beautiful view over the sea that it came with). However, please book it on time. We got really lucky that the next day by arriving there, we managed to have our table after one couple finished their beers.

I ordered mussels (mejillones) and potatoes with some white wine. My boyfriend chose some steak with potatoes. Everything was very delicious, and the precious view over the beach was incredible!

Restaurante Chulvi

For our anniversary dinner, we chose Chulvi restaurant on the beach. Beautiful views, tasty red wine and meat. However, I ordered the freshest shrimp available.

Doña Resu restaurant

The restaurant is great for lunch, more simple eating and for a more affordable price as well! We chose Puntillitas and other seafood.

Where to stay in Oropesa del Mar?

The best hotel in Oropesa del Mar and where to stay

When booking our trip, we knew that all we want is to spend the whole day at the beach. Therefore, we did not even look for fancy hotels. Hotel Jardin is a simple two-star hotel with a great location and breakfast. We managed to find a parking spot near the hotel, it was for free. The hotel is located close to the beach, and breakfast was included in the price. Breakfast has a huge variety to choose from for every type.

The room itself is cozy, but there was no view, at all, but we did not need anything else. Our blinds broke the first night, but we called reception, and they fixed it immediately. Almost forgot, the hotel also has a huge swimming pool but we wanted to enjoy the beach more this time. Maybe next time if we ever return and have a possibility to stay in the same hotel!

What I wore?

Bikinis!

What to wear in Oropesa del Mar?

What a surprise- wearing bikinis to the beach! However, many do not wear them- wondering why! However, I do love a good bikini that is not too cheeky but also not too big. For the last two years, I order all my bikinis from Shein. I love the choice, designs, and price. However, I am searching for some cute sustainable options as well.

Denim shorts

What to pack to your beach trip?

Denim shorts are my go-to for vacations- easy and comfortable. Style up or down your denim shorts can climb mountains, have a long walk, and everything you can imagine.

New comfy sandals

The best outfits for the beach

I bought my new comfortable sandals from Best Secret. It is an invitation-only shopping app, so you should hurry up because I have only two invitations left. However, talking about sandals, I ordered two pairs because I wanted ones for everyday wear and other ones more for going out.

Beige sandals are from Geox but are not as comfortable as sandals from Kendall x Kylie. Kendall and Kylie’s sandals look very trendy, black and white, and I feel like I would be stepping on clouds! It turns out, Kendall and Kylie’s sandals usually cost around 150-200 dollars, but I bought these for 60 dollars.

Going out date night look

The best beach date night outfits

Whenever we go on a trip, I always have some going out or date night outfits. This time the whole outfit was from YesStyle. The most beautiful and comfortable bustier, short cardigan, and mini skirt. What I love about the mini skirt that it has sewed-in shorts- makes me feel secure and comfortable.
